Project Description

The Tenaris Tube Mill in Sault Ste. Marie is a major industrial manufacturing facility producing steel pipe and tubing for the global energy sector. TULLOCH has supported a portfolio of projects across the site, including upgrades and design work for offices, medical facilities, mill areas, yards, walkways, trailers, and supporting infrastructure.

Our work has also included custom mechanical and equipment design within the mill. For one assignment, TULLOCH designed a new pipe-moving mechanism for a pipe rack, including supporting structures, a pivoting arm, and an inflatable air-bag lifting system. The team also prepared construction and shop drawings for the complete assembly. Earlier work included the design of a replacement mounting and sliding assembly for a pipe stamper.

These assignments demonstrate the breadth of TULLOCH’s involvement at the site, from facility and civil improvements to specialized mechanical equipment and structural systems developed for an active manufacturing environment.
