Project Description
The Crawford Project is a major mining development near Timmins, Ontario. TULLOCH has supported Canada Nickel Company across multiple phases of project development since 2021, with assignments expanding as the project has progressed through investigation, design, and planning for major site infrastructure.
TULLOCH’s involvement began with airborne LiDAR surveys in 2021, followed by additional LiDAR and imagery capture in 2022 and 2024 as the project footprint expanded. In 2026, our role grew to include survey support for the proposed highway realignment and a large winter geotechnical investigation program involving multiple areas of proposed mine infrastructure.
Scope of Services
- Airborne LiDAR surveys and imagery capture for project development and detailed design
- Additional LiDAR surface and imagery updates as the project footprint expanded
- Legal and topographic surveys for the proposed highway realignment
- Coordination with Canada Nickel Company and MTO on highway-related survey requirements
- Geotechnical inspection and drill monitoring for a large sonic drilling program
- Soil and borehole logging to CFEM/USCS standards
- Rock core logging, including RQD, fracture index, lithology, and discontinuity logging
- Monitoring well installation support and development
- Falling head testing for hydraulic conductivity analysis
- Preparation of factual geotechnical data reports
- Materials testing for borehole samples, including soil and rock index testing
- Testing associated with North Driftwood River realignment and processing plant boreholes
