Project Description
The Rainy River Mine is a large open-pit and underground gold mining operation in Northwestern Ontario. TULLOCH is part of the Owner’s Engineering team, providing QA surveying, QA materials testing, civil inspection, and engineering support for ongoing site development.
TULLOCH’s involvement began in 2016, initially providing field surveying and office support for civil works construction, including mine access roads and buried infrastructure. In 2017, New Gold retained TULLOCH directly as the lead QA survey firm for Tailings Management Facility construction. Since then, our role has expanded into a long-term, full-time site presence during the construction season.
In 2020, TULLOCH added QA materials testing to the assignment and established an on-site CCIL-certified mobile laboratory. Our team provides concrete and compaction testing, material sampling, quantity reconciliation, inspection, and daily quality assurance reporting to support ongoing construction.
TULLOCH also provides Engineer-of-Record civil inspection and engineering support. Site staffing scales with project requirements, including cross-shift crews to support 24/7 construction during peak periods.
