Ontario Battery Energy Storage Portfolio

Project Description

TULLOCH has supported battery energy storage development across Ontario since 2015, with assignments ranging from early small-scale installations to some of the province’s largest utility-scale BESS projects. The portfolio includes work in Hagersville, Brampton, Seaforth, Kirkfield, Peterborough, Newmarket, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Oxford County, Lakeshore, Sault Ste. Marie, and other communities.

The scale and technical requirements of these projects have expanded significantly over time. TULLOCH’s work spans site investigation, surveying, geotechnical engineering, civil design, foundation engineering, materials testing, and construction-related services for equipment-intensive energy storage facilities.

The Ontario portfolio forms a major part of TULLOCH’s broader Canadian BESS experience, which exceeds 2 GW and includes work for developers, owners, contractors, and energy-sector partners.

Scope of Services

  • Legal, topographic, control, and construction surveys, including buried utility investigations
  • Geotechnical and geophysical investigations, including thermal and electrical resistivity testing
  • Settlement analysis and foundation recommendations
