Project Description
The Gardiner Expressway has required a major multi-year rehabilitation program due to age, heavy daily traffic, weather, and salt exposure. Morrison Hershfield retained TULLOCH as Engineering Survey Lead for a section between the Metrolinx corridor and the Don Valley Parkway, with similar work completed on other rehabilitation phases and locations.
TULLOCH combined control surveys, mobile LiDAR, terrestrial LiDAR, ground surveys, and bathymetric surveys of the Don River to establish design information in a complex urban corridor. Legal survey services were also completed to define existing right-of-way limits and prepare Reference Plans for property acquisition.
Scope of Services
- Control surveys using static GNSS networks and fly levels
- Pre-engineering surveys using mobile LiDAR, terrestrial LiDAR, ground surveys, and Don River bathymetry
- Base plans prepared to City of Toronto standards and specifications
- Legal surveys to define existing right-of-way limits and prepare Reference Plans for property acquisition
