Project Description
The Northeast Power Line Project is a 500kV line between Hanmer TS (Sudbury) and Mississagi TS (Wharncliffe), which equates to 205km in length. The purpose of this transmission line is to reinforce the transmission line system in Northeastern Ontario while supporting the growing electricity demands of industry, businesses and residents. TULLOCH was contracted by HONI to provide land surveying and geotechnical engineering in support of the transmission line design.
Scope of Services
- Legal boundary retracement and preparation of survey plans
- Survey control network establishment across the 205 km transmission corridor
- Airborne LiDAR acquisition and orthoimagery capture
- Corridor terrain and mapping data to support transmission line design
- PLS-CADD deliverables representing the existing transmission network
- Geotechnical investigations along the proposed corridor
- Subsurface characterization and engineering analysis to inform structure and foundation design
