Project Description
The Henvey Inlet Wind Project is a 300 MW wind energy facility located on Henvey Inlet First Nation Reserve No. 2, near Parry Sound, Ontario. The project is recognized as the largest single-phase wind facility in Ontario and the largest First Nation wind partnership project in Canada.
The development includes 87 wind turbines across a 20,000-hectare area, two 230 kV substations connected to the IESO-controlled grid, and approximately 110 kilometres of 34.5 kV underground collectors. It also includes a major transmission component, with a 103 kilometre corridor extending from Parry Sound to Henvey Inlet First Nation.
TULLOCH provided multidisciplinary support across the wind facility and transmission corridor. Our work helped the project team understand terrain, access, property, environmental, and constructability requirements across a large and complex site.
This scope supported key project needs, including turbine site planning, transmission line and road design, entrance design, water crossing approvals, and field-level environmental compliance. TULLOCH’s integrated team helped provide the mapping, engineering, permitting, and field data needed to advance one of Ontario’s most significant renewable energy projects.
