Repost from Association of Consulting Engineering Repost from Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Ontario (ACEC-Ontario):

"The 9th Award of Distinction at the Ontario Engineering Project Awards 2025 was awarded to TULLOCH for their exceptional work on the Magino Gold Mine.

This world-class mining operation exemplifies the balance between economic growth, environmental sustainability, and meaningful engagement with Indigenous and local communities. With 550 construction jobs and 350 operational positions, the Magino project is a powerful driver of regional prosperity.

Not only does it fuel the local economy; it also plays a key role in supporting Ontario's clean energy transition through responsible, sustainable gold production."

The Magino Gold Mine, initially developed by Argonaut Gold (now owned by Alamos Gold), near Dubreuilville, Ontario, forms part of one of the most prolific and high-grade gold mining operations in Canada.

As part of the Owner's Representative team during construction, TULLOCH delivered various multidisciplinary services, including surveying and mapping, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, civil design, GIS support, and QA/QC construction oversight.

We continue to support both Magino and the Island Gold Mine to this day.

Thank you, ACEC-Ontario, for the recognition at the 2025 Ontario Engineering Project Awards!
Junction Creek Project – Environmental Support i Junction Creek Project – Environmental Support in Action

Our Environmental team in Sudbury was recently spotted in waders, carefully relocating fish, turtles, and other wildlife from a drained section of Junction Creek between Hnatyshyn Park and Louis Street. This work is part of our support for a large-scale dredging and reconstruction project taking place in the Flour Mill area.

Water from this section of the creek is being temporarily diverted to allow for the safe excavation and reshaping of the channel. Our role is to ensure that wildlife is safely removed and relocated downstream before heavy equipment enters the area. This is part of our ongoing commitment to environmental protection and responsible project delivery.

The City of Greater Sudbury is undertaking this significant initiative to re-profile approximately 1.6 km of Junction Creek, from Lloyd Street to Perreault Street. The goal is to lower the hydraulic grade line, which will improve the creek’s ability to manage stormwater during heavy rain events, reduce flooding risk, and improve drainage in the Flour Mill and downtown neighbourhoods.

Junction Creek is the largest watercourse in Greater Sudbury, stretching more than 52 km and draining a watershed of over 320 km². With a history of flooding dating back to Sudbury’s early settlement, this project marks a major investment in the creek’s future resilience, and we are proud to be part of it.
