Project Description
Vale's Shebandowan Mine site northwest of Thunder Bay includes multiple water-retaining and stormwater management structures associated with the former mining operation. TULLOCH completed a Dam Safety Review covering six tailings dams, one spillway, and one mill stormwater runoff management pond.
The assignment combined data review, field investigation, instrumentation, dam-safety analysis, and failure-mode assessment to evaluate the condition and performance of the impoundment facilities and support ongoing risk management.
