OSIM Bridge Inspections & Asset Management

Project Overview
Location: Ontario
Client: Multiple Public Sector Clients
Services: Engineering, Structural Engineering, GIS
Sector: Municipal
Project Description
TULLOCH provides Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM) inspections for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls across Ontario. These inspections help municipalities, townships, and other public sector owners understand asset condition, document deficiencies, and prioritize maintenance and rehabilitation needs.
To improve how inspection information is collected and managed, TULLOCH’s Structural and GIS teams developed a custom OSIM Inspection App. The digital workflow combines GPS-integrated field data collection, real-time mapping, standardized inspection records, and automated reporting to reduce manual data entry and improve consistency.
The system also helps clients connect inspection findings with broader asset management planning. By organizing condition information within GIS, municipalities can more easily review infrastructure needs, compare assets, and support capital planning and resource allocation.
