Coke Screening Tower Pier Repair

Project Overview
Services: Engineering, Structural Engineering, Industrial Engineering
Sector: Industrial & Manufacturing
Project Description
A major steel manufacturer identified significant erosion and deterioration affecting the steel and concrete piers supporting a coke screening tower. The condition required a repair strategy that could restore structural integrity while maintaining the continued functionality of the surrounding industrial operations.
TULLOCH assessed the damaged piers, documented the extent of deterioration, and developed repair and reinforcement designs suited to the existing structure. The work also included the design of a temporary jacking frame to safely support the piers during repair activities, along with erosion protection measures to reduce the risk of future damage.
TULLOCH remained involved during construction through field reviews to verify that the repairs were installed in accordance with the design intent.
