Project Description

The Quartz Creek Bridge Replacement and Four-Laning project formed part of the Government of British Columbia's long-term Highway 1 Kamloops-to-Alberta improvement program. Located approximately 40 km west of Golden, the work replaced the aging two-lane Quartz Creek Bridge with a new 185 m, four-lane structure and widened approximately 4.4 km of Highway 1 to four lanes.

Pennecon retained TULLOCH to provide construction surveying across bridge, highway, drainage, and access-road works. The assignment included layout, control, grading, volume calculations, and as-builts, with TULLOCH also managing the survey scope on site for the contractor.

Scope of Services

• Bridge construction surveys for grading, foundations, abutments, bearings, girders, deck, and as-builts
• Highway construction surveys for stationing, control, boundary layout, grading, volumes, and as-builts
• Arch culvert construction surveys, including alignments, feature layout, earthworks, and as-builts
• On-site management of the survey scope on behalf of Pennecon
