TULLOCH's 4th Annual ATV Ride is in the Books! St TULLOCH's 4th Annual ATV Ride is in the Books!

Starting in Little Rapids and winding through the scenic trails behind Thessalon, our crew of ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes tackled mud, snow, water, dust, and everything in between. It was a classic northern Ontario spring day, giving us our first taste of good weather after a particularly harsh and drawn-out winter, with sunshine above and all four seasons under our wheels.

This event isn't just about the ride. It's about the people. TULLOCH staff, friends, and family showed up ready for adventure, with even more joining for a BBQ supper and campfire to cap off the day. It's always a family affair with our group, where coworkers become friends and friends feel like family.

Whether solving problems on a project or pulling each other out of a mud pit, we're in it together. Speaking of which, a special shoutout goes to Kevin Nott, who had a memorable battle with a particularly stubborn mud hole. Video coming soon. Thankfully, our trail crew had his back (and his bike). He has been assigned off-road vehicle training before next year's ride.

At TULLOCH, we'll take any excuse to gather as a team the best way we know: out in nature, battling rugged terrains, and enjoying time with the people who make this a Great Place to Work.

Until next year!

Team TULLOCH hit the ice this past Saturday at Can Team TULLOCH hit the ice this past Saturday at Canlan Sports Oshawa for the 2025 Engineers Cup.

While we didn’t make it past the round robin, we had a blast playing and connecting with colleagues from across the industry at the tournament’s largest year yet, with 9 teams participating.

Huge thanks to the team at 4Sight Utility Engineers for hosting and organizing the event.

Shout-out to all the teams who competed this year: GHD, CIMA+, Entuitive, EnVision Consultants, H.H. Angus, J.D. Barnes, WSP, and 4Sight.

Congrats to EnVision Consultants on winning the championship match against WSP!

More than just a day of fun and friendly competition, the tournament raises money for the Andrew Watson Scholarship Fund at Toronto Metropolitan University. The scholarship supports full-time Civil Engineering students who demonstrate financial need, resilience, and academic strength, with the goal of helping students who embody Andrew’s character, intellect, drive, and ability to persevere through adversity. It's a meaningful way to honour his legacy and support the next generation of engineers.

We’re proud to be part of this event and are already looking forward to next year!
We are excited to share that at last night's Ontar We are excited to share that at last night's Ontario Engineering Project Awards (OEPA) Gala, TULLOCH won the Industry, Energy and Resources Award of Distinction for our Construction QA/QC Program at the Magino Gold Project.

The Magino Gold Mine, initially developed by Argonaut Gold (now owned by Alamos Gold), near Dubreuilville, Ontario, forms part of one of the most prolific and high-grade gold mining operations in Canada. The project has driven regional economic growth through robust mineral production and meaningful engagement with Indigenous and local communities.

As part of the Owner's Representative team during construction, TULLOCH delivered various multidisciplinary services, including surveying and mapping, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, civil design, GIS support, and QA/QC construction oversight.

Leveraging our northern Ontario expertise, TULLOCH provided innovative and adaptive solutions in a remote, logistically challenging environment. Now operational, the mega project and its contributors have developed strong partnerships with Indigenous communities, generating revenue-sharing and subcontracting opportunities while integrating traditional knowledge into environmental planning. With 550 construction and 350 operational jobs, Magino and the wider Island Gold District supports Ontario's clean energy transition through critical mineral production.

Organized and evaluated by the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Ontario (ACEC-Ontario), the Ontario Engineering Project Awards celebrate innovation and impact across the consulting engineering profession, recognizing projects of all sizes from ACEC-Ontario member companies. Founded in 1975, ACEC-Ontario represents and advocates for engineering companies across the province.

Thank you, ACEC-Ontario, for the recognition and for hosting another wonderful edition of the OEPA Gala!

National Day of Mourning The National Day of Mour National Day of Mourning

The National Day of Mourning is a time to remember and honour those who lost their lives, were injured, or became ill due to a workplace tragedy.

Marked annually in Canada on April 28, this day is dedicated to reflecting on the profound impact of work-related incidents and renewing our shared commitment to safety.

Today, we pause to honour the lives lost, the lives forever changed, and the families, friends, and coworkers left behind.

According to the Association of Workers' Compensation Boards of Canada (AWCBC), in 2023, 1,057 workers across Canada lost their lives due to work-related incidents, including 29 young workers aged 15 to 24.

These are not just numbers. They are our coworkers. Our friends. Our family.
Each loss leaves a lasting impact that ripples through entire communities.

The National Day of Mourning reminds us why safety matters, not just for ourselves, but for everyone we work alongside.

At TULLOCH, we renew our commitment to protecting one another and fostering a culture where safety is never compromised. Today, we ask you to take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember.

Safety First, Always.
