Through a design-build relationship with S&T Group of Sault Ste. Marie, TULLOCH Engineering completed a renovation/upgrade of an existing automotive dealership to become the new home of Great Lakes Honda in Sault Ste. Marie.
The building is 22,500 sq. ft. and constructed from structural steel and masonry block. Renovation activities generally involved demolition of existing partitions, relocation of building structural elements and the creation of a new showroom entrance tower on the front façade of the building.
Consultation with the owners and the architect took place throughout the duration of the project. This ensured that the owner’s vision was achieved and that all requirements for corporate style and branding were met. TULLOCH provided general review during construction, which consisted of milestone construction inspection, structural steel inspection and materials testing.
